hello people; Any of you turboheads try it on any parts on your cars? I've been seeing a few cars out there that have been painted, coated who knows but I do believe they where plasticoated? You can tell I believe because all the badges are covered also. One that stuck out in my mind was a M3 in a flat color that was cool in my eyes and if you go to U-tube there's a guy spraying an Audi S4 in his driveway that gives you an idea of how to do it. He does sell the stuff so it's more of an add.

Are you talking about plasti dip? Did my stock wheels in flat black. Picture below. Easy to do. Just clean whatever you're doing well.

I've used it on my grill and various other trim pieces. The key is to apply a very light first coat and let it dry 10 minutes between the next 3-4 coats. This will make it lay down nice and smooth and be able to peel right off when you want to. I also find it is much more durable that the satin trim paint people usually use.

I was wondering if you can use plasticoat on a new hood pad. What do you think?

I thought about using this stuff on my lower quarter panels to help protect against rock chips. Can't really put a mud flap back there because of the exhaust.

Tthere's another thread on this, I've been playin' w/ it; did the cladding on my Aztek (dark grey that's faded) looks brand new.
gloss black for the rocker panels should work.

these guys have some interesting colors & such: metallic, translucents, custom colors (might be a little pricey $$) & some interesting ideas...
I also found some decent variety at the little ACE hardware by my house; more selection than Home Depot

I'm going to give a try on the wives car. Her car is black, she wants black wheels.

They have a gloss protective coat now. Saw it at Lowes last night. Supposed to protect color coats from fading. A lot of the motorcycle guys use the stuff. I never liked it due to the matte finish but this gloss coat might make things interesting.

Our detail guy was buffing out the paint on a truck that had the bumpers coated with it. He hit the front bumper with the buffing pad by accident and totally ruined/rolled up the coating on the front bumper.

Just got "Smoke" & "Glossifier" ($9ea.) @ ACE, & a can of black @ Home Depot ($6); will be tryin' 'em out this wkend; "smoke" on the headlight covers & black & "Glossifier" on the rocker panel(?) under the doors.
I'll post results...
