i just put a new settup on my 87 GN, im running a 3in lt1 maf with translator gen 2, with an extender chip, a ta49 turbo (garret housing), 46 mm external wastegate from gn1 performance, im running 43 lb 009 injectors the lightning limetops, and a walboro 340 fuel pump with hotwire kit.

i was told with this settup that the external wastegate on the down pipe will not be able to control boost i have a boost controller just wondering if anybody has ever heard of this problem car runs and drives fine otherwise, happens around 3000 rpm. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED MY NUMBER IS (631-387-3561)
If it didn't work, people wouldn't buy it.
If people didn't buy it, they wouldn't make it.

Im gunna try afjusting the spring ive had the pipe about a year and a half now it worked fine with the stock settip now its not working well i see on the website now that it say i should have the turbo wastegate hole ported to 1-1/8 in

Depending on what turbo you are using and engine build i would contact "Bison" on here before porting the waste gate hole......

So what's new about the set up? Turbo only? MAF? Downpipe? The ta49 will flow quite a bit more than the stock turbo.
What are your BLMs when you get the stumble?. If they are below 128. Add fuel pressure and see if it helps
Running smooth is to have harmony between fuel and air through the entire boost range
Watch out for knock while tuning

new settup is just ta49 turbo (garret housing), walboro 340 pump, and 43 pound injectors. everything else ive had on for about a year and a half. ill set the fuel pressure, see what happens. maybe it could just be the spring in the wastgate

Did you get a new chip to match the injectors? If not that's your problem.
Your initial post was that the down pipe couldn't control boost when it appears that is was working fine before.
The external gate is actually better for you're new set up. The Wastegate sping adjustments will just help smooth boost control. No harm in lowering preset. Probably not going fix bogging at 10psi though.
Post BLMs and FP when bog happens
