I know this is a Buick site but a close friend says that you guys are the best. I have a 70 454 that is having an oiling issue. The rockers on both sides are having trouble getting oil. As you go from rear to front of block the rockers get less and less oil until the front 2 on each side are getting no oil. This engine has about 10k and was built by the cars last owner who had died. We removed the intake and checked everything and installed new lifters to see if that would have any effect. It did not. The oil gallery is clear with no restictions. Has anyone ever seen this before and what was the cause? This is really messing with us as the engine seems to been fine untill just recently. Please help us out.

Whats the oil pressure at idle? What weight oil? at what temp?

You need to give specifics. ;)

When you pulled the lifters due to the non oiling rocker issue did you turn the pump with a drill motor to possibly flush out anything that was blocking the oil passage(s)?

Where are you taking the pressure readings? From the port down by the filter or up top at the intake? The reason I ask is that you can have good oil press readings down next to the filter as thats tied into the main oil galley right off the pump but up top can be low due to a leak or blocked passage between the main galley and the lifter galley(s).

If it were me Id take pressure readings from both the above locations and compare them to help figure out where the leak/blockage is. The pressure readings you listed are fine IMO if thats what youre getting out of the port next to the intake but can be misleading if the readings are being taken from down next to the oil filter.
