I am not sure if this is the right forum for this so move if you must but here you go.

As some of you know I have a very bad back, well my chiropractor that I go to has a car a 92 Buick Park Ave. with the v6 that has a battery drain problem that they can't figure out, he also said that some of the power options where acting up on it to (trunk, windows, locks, ect. ect.)

I would like to help them out since they have done so much for myself and the people who are in our small town. They don't really have the money to take it to trace the electrical so if there is anything that you guy's can do I would be grateful.

Larry, from my limited knowledge here, I would first say first remove the relay for the power assesories and recheck for the drain. My be as simple as a relay hanging closed. Mark

Is this a constant problem like every morning the battery is dying/dead or is this an intermittant problem? You said it's had problems with some of the accesories acting up.

If it's a contstant problem you're in luck. You can put an ampmeter between the battery connection and the battery (with the car off). If you see amperage pulling, then all you have to do is go fuse pulling. When you pull the fuse that drops the amperage you have a hint of your culprit. If it's an intermittant problem, I would look at those accesories. If they are all on the same circuit or share a common ground, etc.

Which exact options were acting up?? By acting up, you mean not working at all, working irratically??

More info please.

I am going to go the low tech way. First make sure the battery is fully charged, disconnect battery + and let sit overnight. If car does not start then the battery is bad. If it does, next day disconnect the primary wire from the back of the alternator. See if this solves the issue. If so then the alternator is either bad or there are bad grounds. Also before doing all this look for any corrosion on all battery cables. Check all grounds including engine and body. These will also cause the symptoms you describe.

Hope this is a stat. Let us know.

Thanks guy's for the info I forwarded this info too them.

I guess that I should have said earlier that they did have the alt, starter, and batt. checked and all checked out fine.

If there is anything else that they need to know, please post so I can tell them so they can hopefully get it fixed. TIA
