2 more turbo Buicks were stolen on the right coast recently. The notice is posted up in the Stolen & Vin Check section. Even though most of the turbo Buicks stolen recently have been from the East coast, it may not be long before the trend works it's way out here. And we've lost cars out here in the past, some right out of the South Western Section membership. Do whatever you can to keep what belongs to you yours. Especially our beloved turbo Buicks.

Gps , column cover with lock ,wheel boot . All inside a high security warehouse .. Got mine covered .. Thanks for the heads up gary .. I will hire an armed gaurd if i have to .. Shoot first ask question later ..

I'll let MeanChicken drive mine. Then it'll be broke and they would HAVE to two it away. ;)

Just kidding brother! Thanks for the heads up too Gary. Scary stuff for sure.

I used to leave my smart phone (IPHONE) with the ringer off and full battery hidden somewhere since it's very slim when i would leave my GN by itself. I also have the "findIphone" APP never had to use it thank god, but am sure it would have helped find my car in less then 24 hrs since it works with GPS..

They're a hot ticket item in the Bay Area and I know a few have been stolen in recent times.
Fortunately mine is welded to a chassis table :D That's how I keep it safe.

That's got to take the fun out of driving it, doesn't it Peter? ;)

I have been preaching this to my customers for years & yet I see them being left outside of bars & shopping centers. I actually had one person who I will never forget.I sold a mint GNX to & he lived in Oakland & parked it in a carport outside. Gone in a week. Then came on here crying about it.The insurance company paid him off. So he called me asking to find him another.I highly advised him to go buy a Volvo or something better suited to accommodate his stupidity. To add insult there was a kill switch that might of saved the car & he never bothered to set it. I wonder how many stolen cars are set ups by the owners to collect insurance. When you have a car with a known high profile for theft. Why would you leave it unattended. A kill switch & hidden GPS device is the way to go if you stand any chance of getting your car back.

I've kept mine safe by driving it everywhere and stepping on the "kill switch" whenever I notice someone trying to keep up with me.

...but...currently it's dead in my garage...so it aint going anywhere....for awhile...

We just told the locals here in Bama that Buick thieves were responsible for Dale Earnhardt's Death in Daytona and the problem kind of takes care of itself.

Especially those in the San Fernando Valley.
When i lived in Granada Hills, mine was about to be driven away but the kill switch kept it from going anywhere. Had a "club" on it but they bolt cut through the steering wheel and got it off. This was right in my own driveway! good thing for the kill switch.! they were turning it over and all.... neighbor heard them and chased them off. shortly after i cleared out the garage and parked inside.
a good friend of mine used to let his son drive it his GN to school in San Fernando, good thing i got him a Thrasher chip with anti theft. the f'er that tried to take his car couldnt get it started so he key scratched the entire car. well my buddy got a beautiful paint job done through the insurance afterward.

Soooo.... with both of those "almost gone", the cars were parked in the same place repeatedly... ie my house, other one, school.... so ya better have some good anti theft devices if you daily drive and or park at the same place routienly. someone is watching....

and yes i would always look over my shoulder when i drive home looking for people following me. more than once i had driven by my own house because a car was possibly following me. i may be paranoid, but i still got my ride.

Another I can't forget is the turbo magazine project Regal that I did most of the work on. engine, suspension etc. It was parked in the editors driveway in Long Beach. Before I could really get the benefit from all the effort that was put into it. The car got stolen. The reason the car wasn't stored safely out of sight in the garage is because it was full of junk that was worth a fraction of the value of the car. That is quite common. the wife & the kids take over the garage with all there stuff & a valuable car sets outside exposed to the elements & thieves. Someone please explain the logic with that & how many here reading this have the same circumstances.

Wife: Why do I have to park outside and your Buick gets the garge?

Husband: Because I haven't figured out how to get it in the spare bedroom:)

XLR8ONU is real man & a symbol of how we must stand up to these women, rise up occupy & take our garages back. No more parking out in the streets or driveways. If they don't like it fire them & find a younger one that will understand.

Stepped on that "kill switch" a little too hard, eh Tim?

I've done that more than a time or two, Lou, but the younger ones smarten up quick and then they trade you in on a younger one, or an older one with more money.

After having 2 TR's stolen from my driveway in a 5 year span, this one is NEVER parked outside unless it is where I can see it.

When we were looking for our house my main requirement was 2+ car garage. The wife asked if she got to park in the garage. I laughed and told her no; one side is for the car and the other so I have room when I tear it apart! I guess I deserved to get hit for that one. We ended up getting a 2.5 car garage (2 car plus a workshop room). When we moved in, my Z06 was it's only resident and now my TR is it's only resident :)

I wouldn't even consider a house without a three car garage. I have all there filled plus a couple more at my shop.

Gary, Just don't give up keep doing it till you get it right. There are plenty of women out there that would love to share your pension.
