I decided to take a plug out today and see what it looked like and what kind I had since I haven't checked them in the time I've owned the car.

I decided to buy some new plugs after reading a few threads and got he NGK UR5's

Heres the old plug. AC R42TS gapped at 32

Is there a reason the NGK plug is shorter?

When you put the new plugs in, start the car. And drive it up the road.. Then hammer it the way back well into 3rd. Let out... And shut the motor off. Coast back to garage and pull a plug. That will give you a good reading. Otherwise, your idle effects the burn as seen in the pic above on the porcelain.

I thought about doing that but would be a hair dangerous where my garage is. Did it at the track all the time.

These NGK plugs are a little longer from seat to tip than the AC plugs. Is that going to be an issue?

I have Champion Iron heads, I figured it would be ok but it never hurts to ask.

These new plugs will protrude in the head a little farther.

I've read a lot of good opinions on these plugs so I thought I would try them.
