I answered an ad this guy posted for a burgundy interior in "mint" condition. Never dealt with him before. Ad said to e-mail him - he "just wants to get rid of the stuff." So I e-mailed him with my number and said I would take it. Here is his reply verbatim:
"its in good cond no cuts or tears or burns ill call you when i have a chance thanks for reading"
No call back. So I e-mail again the next day asking where he is located, a phone number and an address to discuss the interior. Here is his answer:
"waterbury if you want you can come and see it i have no long distance but in good cond 100.00 just need to get rid of it
thanks"
So I still have no number or address. E-mailed a second and third time over the course of a week to get directions to go look at the stuff. No reply.
Then I realize that this seems strangely familiar. I do a search on this POLO-DIMITRO and discover that I and many others have replied to this same tired ad before. It has been posted over 15 times on this board. First the price was $650, then $150, then $300, then $100. What gives?
This guy has been posting this same ad (see below link) since October 2003. I don't know what personal issues this person has, but this has been a complete waste of time. Maybe this is a good case for moderator intervention. I realize that member's situations may change and they may need to retract items for sale or change the price, but this ridiculous. I couldn't care less about the interior. I'm just trying to save someone else some valuable time if they come across an ad for sale by this guy. Maybe we need seller's ratings on this board............
