Guys, I'm having trouble with my HrpartsNstuff Poly motor mounts lineing up on my TTA. The passenger side bolted up with no problem, but I can't see any way that the drivers side mount will bolt up to the supplied pedestal. Am I missing something here? Car has the original motor and I removed the original mounts to put in the Hrparts mounts.

Howdy Gewehr455!

Yep! Had the same problem myself. Have a buddy help you out. Get a long pry bar (rent one if you have to) loosen the 5 bolts that you have installed. Get a good pry angle (just don't use the oil pan) and force the motor over, then use the stock motor mount bolt and knock it thru. The stock bolts are pointed the HR bolts are flat nosed. The pointed bolt will go through. You need the freedom of moition.

I don't know about a TTA but the GN mounts from H&R have a left and a right. Switch them and they don't line up.

Hi Steve,

This is an F body Pontiac not a G body Buick. On an F body the motor mounts are identical. Now! Thats not to say you're wrong but it does raise the question on wether HR sent him the correct kit? I have had that experience before. All my local buds have Buicks so it's very hard to convince them that a TTA is Very different oppossed to a G body Buick.

Thanks for the replies. These mounts were marked - Driver and Passenger. I was carefull to put them on the correct sides. I'll try the pry bar, but it doesn't seem like the motor would move towards the drivers side with the passenger engine motor mount bolted up. It seemed like the only movement I could get was vertical movement on the drivers side of the motor. I need to come sideways about an inch to bolt up the drivers side.

Maybe you can disconnect the trans mount and that will allow the engine to shift enough to get the bolt in.

Hi Jim,

Loosen all the bolts that are holding the mounts (motor and frame) and then pry the mount (not the motor). You will have to use the stock bolts that run through the saddle and motor mount (the 2 pieces that tie them together). I really don't know if there's a difference between the 2 frame styles but, it is a possibillity. Call them! The difference is accsesive.

Um! Jim! You did'nt put the motor side mount's on backwords did you? The mounts stick out away from the block (like wings) not close to the block. Just askin

Left motor mount

The mount that bolts to the block is two pieces correct?? It looks to me if you unbolt the two side mounting bolts/two front and two rear from the plate that bolts two the block and flip it over it might work. Looks as if it was mounted upside down. KERRY

STOP!!!!
That mount is so far off you have something wrong! If you have one side bolted in and the other side is that far off something is wrong. You should not have to pry, loosen bolts etc. to line up the through bolts. Worse case scenario call HR Parts & Stuff.

Got the bolt in. Thanks for all the suggestions. I loosened everything up, put in the motor mount bolts, and then tightened the mounts and pedestals. It did take a long bar to move the motor over enough to put in the drivers side motor mount bolt. I was lucky enough to have the car up on a friends lift. The job was difficult standing up, couldn't imagine doing this with the car on jack stands.

Hi Jim,

Just to respond, I'm glad it worked out for you. You should see an improvement.
