Im considering a full frame off restore for my 84 regal, but i have heard bad things about the polyurathaine bushings, something about them squeeking or being noisey b/c of what they are, anyone have any insight on this? Im going to get the new body mounts too so im hoping it will look good but not be noisey or low in quality.

Stay away from polyurethane bushings especially on a street car. Moog makes what they call a problem solver bushing that works excellent. It's a slightly firmer bushing than stock with a heavy duty shell that has very good ride characteristics. My son went the polyurethane route a few years ago and they were nothing but trouble. They transmitted a lot of road vibration to the frame and always squeaked. Put the Moog bushings in and the car rides and handles great. :)

This is what i have been hearing and I thank you very much for the past experience information, I will consider something different I will look into the moog bushings, once again thank you.

Years ago one of the car mags did an article on stiffing your bushings. They baked the bushings in a toaster oven for about 10-15 minutes to cure them a little more and got a harder bushing. I think it was at 250 degrees. The only drawback is they don't last as long.

That's my car! I totally agree

I Did Energy Poly. I Also Did The Upper Two. I Dont Have Any Squeaks. Yes It Is More Sensitive, But... It Handles Way Better Than Before. Just Remember To Lube Them When Installing. Equal Torq Too.

Ok now im confused or im not understanding everything but from what i have read from this site (so far) is that there are certain # bushings that go in certain places, i got that, BUT do i have to buy all of these seperate? I was hoping for a kit that gave me everything i need as far as my car goes and a plus would be instructions...can anyone verify this to me?

Ok but im interested in replacing most all of the body mounts and bushings...I just dont know how much to expect to pay and how much work im in for.

frame off, LOL!

Well if you plan on doing a frame off the last thing you want to worry about at this point is which body bushing you are going for. If your bushings are real bad, whcih they probably are, you will most likely have a few egged holes in your frame. Getting the body up high enough to yaank the frame out is the hard part, after you get that done you will end up wanting to tear everything down and clean and paint once you see how bad it is. If you want everyhting clean and pretty, I would wait and tackle this next winter so you don't have your car sitting in a zillion pieces all summer wishing you could be driving it. Not so much a money issue, just LOTS OF TIME:rolleyes:

I dont think Im going through with a frame off I just wish i could, but I really dont need to and dont have the patience for it. I do however before i get my motor back in the car and before it gets painted would like to change the body mounts and the bushings and so this is why i started the topic. ;)
