Yes, but why?.

The rubber/polyurethane contribute to the *spring rate* of the wheel. Changing one side but not the other, probably won't make much difference, other then maybe when you have to make a sudden evasive manuever, and that's not the time, IMO, to find out there's a problem.

FWIW & IMHO:
I think that somebody may have gotten their wires crossed on this suggestion. What it more than likely was meant to be was installing polyurethane bushings on only the driver side. The reasoning bdhind this is the intense heat emitted by the downpipe in that area. Especially if you are running a bigger than stock downpipe, such as a THDP. Look at the following site for a good possibility for improvement over polyurethane bushings on the passenger side.

http://www.globalwest.net/1973-87 Grand National , Chevelle components.htm

If I ever do a bushing change, it will be all of them and it will all be the Del-A-Lum bushings everywhere excluding the Global West recommended brass ones for the passenger side by the downpipe. Not cheap, but well thought out quality products rarely are.

Your TR has the downpipe on the Driver's side?, do you have one of those rare limited edition, R/H drive versions?. :)

Downpipe on the passenger side. Hence polyurethane bushings may not last forever on the passenger side. I think that the brass might be a better idea on the passenger side. Hence polyurethane only on the driver side front end might be the way to go. Sorry that you misunderstood. When I said that area, meant the area that he was referring to, the passenger side. I thought that the sentence down below that fully explained that the downpipe was on the passenger side. Also, there is a heat barrier made out of stainless steel sold by Kirban Performance and everybody else that might restrict/deflect the heat away from the bushings regardless of what material is used for bushings. I am going to look into the Global West set-up when i do bushings.
Work for you now, Bruce?

My apologies, I did not see the smiley.
I need the typing practice anyway.
