Back for more on that 12 sec possibility. I am looking for any prices or people who can help me find someone that can port my intake and heads to match, and a cam/lifters to complete the job.
Got a good price?

I am also looking for any recomendations for drag rims and slicks for the rear for that weekend warrior deal. Got any Ideas?

John

my brother still has a ported and gutted intake that redshotair did , nice looking job. I seen him go 13.0 with this and a speed pro cam , he has it for sale for 170 plus shipping.

I would try to find a speed pro 204-214, ever one says they work great and have had some good times with them, my brother paid 104.00 for it and like 30.00 for some sealed power lifters.

What about doing it yourself ?

I did my intake and heads myself. No past experience and the shop I took 'um to clean them after said I did a good job.

Its not that difficult if you have a Dremel and/or a die grinder and some patience and time.

Save the ca$h. It will cost you a fortune in labour 'cause that's all it is - lots of labour.

Use my pics if you want as a guide - follow the link I have in my signature.

Cant do it myself

Being that I am in college, work full time, and am never really home, I could not work on the heads or intake by myself. I dont have a single clue as to what porting should look like when complete, or how far to go, or any of that. I feel it best to spend a couple hundred and have a professional do it, so that I do not wreck the only motor I can afford right now.

Does anyone here on turbobuick.com do the work for a decent price? Let me know....Thanks everybody!

John

I win Try these guys, they did mine and already have a couple ready to ship, just a matter of you sending yours in and paying for it. They did mine, we were in the same boat as you described, really didn't have time to do it ourselves... :D

isn't keith mease in joisey?

i'm sure he could set you up with what you need.

Prices

I have already spoken with Keith Mease, but I was hoping for better prices. His prices were very reasonable, but if I want my buick on the road anytime before next december, I have got to find the best prices for the work i need done. I was quoted for heads and intake portmatched and ceramic coated/ polished for 1100 plus gaskets. Can anyone do the work for a better price?

John

The intake needs to be ported. The heads can get away with a port match and bowl work. The cheapest I found around here is $700 for just the heads. That included a valve job, port match (not full porting) and bowl work. $1,100 sounds fair for both. A fully ported set of iron heads goes for ~$1,250. I do my own heads and have had pretty good results.

dude my brother want to a 86 gn and has a ported and gutted intake that was cut open and welded back together. It was done by REDSHOTAIR, my brother will take like 160 plus shipping. this way you dontr have to take yours off to get done and this one would be ready, if i didnt have a v2 i would have it on my car. I can send you pictures if you want.

I did my intake and heads myself as well, first time I had done it, but I did have my brother there to give me pointers. Worked pretty well :)

anyone know about a cam?

What about a matching cam...I am going to be yanking the whole motor, and figure, since it is apart, might as well go for it all. Is there a specific vendor who sells a good cam for a hot air going for mid to low 12's? I guess I will be sending that top end to Keith, as he does seem to have a good rep and good prices. Any other ideas?

John
