Here is what they looked like

How did it look before they coated it? If the metal was pitted and rusty it will come out that way. Powder coating will not fill in pits and rust. If the surface was smooth on that part before they did it then they might have not prep'd it properly and that's why it came out that way. If it was bumpy and lumpy before then that's normal for how it should have came out. I've had just about everything there is to power coat powder coated on my car.

The guy I use has walk in ovens. He puts the parts in there and cooks them when I bring them to him. He then sand blasts the parts. He then cooks them again. Then he coats them and bakes them once more. That is the proper way to powder coat to make it come out perfect.

I had the part media blasted before I had it powder coated so it wasn't lumpy.
Thanks guys I will ask them to do a better job. They have my rear bumper also and it was similar. I did not pick it up but asked them to redo it.

The coater said that is the way the finish comes out. He showed me some of the different color chips that were powder coated and there was some orange peel in the coating.

If that is the look of that company's end product I would be looking for another company to do your car parts. They Should not look like that, Period!

It is true that if your parts are pited or show any dimples at all they will show up in the finish.

I took the parts and to save time had them painted. They look great. I have since found other coaters who claim their coating is smooth.
I didn't pay the oriiginal coaters for their work.
Thanks
