i got this idea from a friends car... when he arms his N2O the "fasten seat belt" light comes on..

so i was thinking.. when the time comes and i get the alky kit for my car, i would wire it so that the "Power Injection" light comes on so i know im using alky...

how would i wire this? i was thinking of keeping the alky control in the glove compartment so its out of sight..

There have recently been some good posts on this exact subject. Use the all mighty 'Search' button at the top. :)

As for the alchy control box, all I can say is that I use the test button on top of my box nearly everytime I drive the car. I would recommend putting the box somewhere where that button is easily accessible. Instead of reaching across to to open the glove box everytime ;)

That seat belt light idea is hilarious. Maybe I should hook up my alky light to this light too. That is one of the greatest ideas I've heard in a while. However, I would be the only one seeing this thing work...everyone else's head should be held back forcefully enough that they wouldn't be able to poke their big melon over there far enough to see it.:D Give props to your friend for that idea man!

I plan to do the same. I think I can just tap off the power lead to the pump from the control unit. I will mount the control unit under the dash so it isn't visible from outside, but I can still reach the button/knobs without breaking my back.

While I'm at it, I plan to run the low alcohol light in the "Low Fluid" spot in the panel. (if that's what it is).

Blackbuick87 just started a thread on this over in the alky section and he put the instructions on his website.HTH

You could also install a full throttle nitrous switch wired to power and set up so the light comes on at full throttle.

This is the way I set mine up a few years back. In the power injection spot I used a 194/168 bulb socket that I got off another car in the junkyard. Im using it to acknowledge power for the alky system. I have a switch under the dash to turn the power off and on, which consequently triggers the pwr inj light (since I dont always want the alky active).
Also, I have an a-pillar gauge pod w/ boost gauge. I drilled a hole in the pod just above the gauge to the left (facing forward like the gauge) where there is a perfect open space. Here I installed a bulb which is triggered whenever the alky actually sprays (when the hobbs switch is triggered). I can look in the same spot and see my boost go up and alky kick in.
The setup looks really good like it was meant to be that way. The bulb next to the gauge lights up green just like the pwr inj and my dig dash. Nothing looks crazy or out of the ordinary, and that is one of the reasons I wanted to utilize the power injection spot.
For a while, before I hooked up the bulb next to the boost gauge, I used the pwr inj light to come on when the alky sprayed. Wire it up whichever way you want it.
My alky kit is pretty much homemade so I didnt have any of the "lights, bells, and whistles" that some of the kits offered today already come with. Had to come up with something :D
