I know some folks used to pull the powet seat out of a (I think) one of the dinky lil small caddys and swap over to the reagl pass side seat.
That very well could be it

how rare is the power passenger seat for regal limited? ive got driver and passenger power. GM.

That picture seems to be of a Limited...but I'd be surprised if it's factory installed as to my knowledge, no Regal had the right (passenger) side power seat. I did however install one in my GN and did my best to make it as close to a "factory" installation (right down to the orange power wire under the carpet) as possible. See picture below...

well i reupholstered my interior it was originaly sage green leather. but when i got the car it was a 1 owner 70 year old couple that bought it brand new. so i dont think they had anything to to with it. has to be original, because when i tore out the foam it had the switch bracket tack welded to the seat exactly like the driver side. pretty much i have no doubt its original...... any idea

"turbo nasty", only the plastic trim piece that houses the switch from a Cadillac Cimarron is used. Because the Cimarron is a smaller size car, the actual power seat track will NOT work in the Regal body. It is too narrow to bolt up to the bucket seat.

Claude

Passenger power seat, Grand National

Jeeze, Claude, that's a great job!!! It looks totally factory. I'm so damn impressed!! Please, would you be kind enough to share with me what power seat assembly you used to bolt up to the Grand National passenger seat and where did you get the "right hand side" of the panel that houses the six way switch? I mean, this is a great job you did here, I've got to do the same thing to my '87 Grand National so my wonderful wife, Shirley, can be more comfortable. This is pretty important to me.;) Could you tell us how you did it? I do have the shop manual that tells where on the second fuse panel, to hook up the orange passenger wire. OK? What did you use, Claude? I already used a power seat assembly out of an '83 Regal for the driver's side, it looks totally stock, works just great. Just that the guy at the junkyard got pissed at me for cutting the connectors off the wrecked Regal power seat assembly (got the motor assembly from another place) so this guy charged me $20 for five connectors that I needed, saying that I ruined the chances of someone else buying a whole used assembly with the power wire connectors. I've not been back since, he really made me feel like s***:( .
Again, great job! Wow, you all are really well versed in mechanical knowhow.

I'm not aware that there ever was a sage green LEATHER interior ever offered by GM. Only available in the plush Limited cloth interior.

i have a 84 T-Type Regal with a split bench front seat ....... and both sides are power seats from the factory. remarkably, everything still works. the factory code for the passenger side power seat is AG2.

In my LTD I just grabbed a regular 6 way power seat & threw it in the passenger side. My switches are up front as I was nervous to cut the leather.

Did you say there is a Plate under the leather thats tack welded on?
Just remove that & drill some screw holes kinda deal? Something to investigate over the winter so the switches are on the sides like yours are. Nice Job!!

Bruce, see this thread which I started back in June '07 http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/ge...ht-side-power-seat-installation-complete.html about the passenger's side power seat installation...You'll see that there were a few modifications that needed to be done to the track itself as it was designed for the left side and was 1 in. too far right. Also, just in case you did not know, the power seat tracks are different in '87 but they were the same on all older Regals. The parts from the older tracks cannot be used on the '87 tracks but the whole assembly can be used. If something is not clear and you have some questions, don't hesitate to ask them...It'll be my pleasure to help! I should add that the (then rare) right side seat trim piece is now available from Brian at GBodyParts.com Online

The thread starter fails to mention that he has a 86 and older Limited. Notice the fake wood door trim and casket handles. The passenger power seat was an option on the 84-86 non buckets seats.

I've got a home built hybrid power seat in my 86 GN. And I've done the passenger power seat conversion like Claude. What I did was take my old style 86 seat adjuster and use the newer style motors on it so the drivers side seat wouldn't be pushed out and rubbing against the door trim. I've got the split bench adjuster on the passenger side. No big deal as I don't ever sit on that side. I'll try and dig up the thread on how it did it.

Oh and I have some of those Cimarron passenger power seat switch panels. PM and I'll see what I have and quote you a price. Let me know what color you need.
