After opening the ECM and removing the shell, the Powerlogger install directions say to separate the two circuit boards by removing the screws holding them together. I need some more help with this please. In my ECM it appears the two boards are connected on one side by two ribbon connectors with the pins of those connectors soldered into the boards. It does not appear these boards can be separated. Is that correct? If so, what should I do? I posted this on the Full Throttle site, but thought I would post here too. Thanks.

You can install it without separating the halves, I did.

I had the same problem. It folds open like stated above but the glue on the circuit boards made it difficult to fold it open and I didn't want to break anything but I finally got it. Also don't forget to use "goof off" like the instructions say for cleaning the edge of the board where the power logger installs. I picked up a small bottle at the hardware store next to the paint thinners.

and, take your time, with a well lit, well ventillated work area, don't use anything really shart to scrape the board edge with. The goof-off melts the coating,
you just need to gently scrape it away.

I did not separate mine and I used finger nail polish remover and install mine and gently scrape the terminals .

Thanks for the help. I got it to fold open a bit and used the good off with my thumbnail as a scraper. Worked great and the powerlogger is up and running. I just need to do some passes now!
