Dave... how soon you making the purchase... ill give ya a ride this spring with my new J/B 67/65 if you like...but im sure you don't want to wait that long...

Dan, I was hoping to place an order this week sometime, maybe next week. Got spring fever! Either way I'd love to go for a ride in your car. What stall are you running and you're larger than 231-235 displacement now aren't ya?

I am now strongly considering the 6265 ball bearing unit with a .63 a/r and ported S cover. Dusty B explained that it should work well with my current converter and if I'd like to pick up a little extra et I could switch to the 9.5" in the future. From what I've read people don't seem to be having much trouble getting into the 10's with this turbo. Does my rationale make sense here guys?

Totally makes sense and Dusty knows his converters so you'll be happier with the smaller turbo and run a HELL of a lot faster than what you were with the 6780.

My bad, I kept seeing your turbo as a Billet comp wheel, so you're not going to lose as much power as you think going to the Billet 62/65. You'll gain a ton of spool, 60ft and 330 better though for sure. Your 1/8th mile ET should be a huge improvement over the 6780 for sure.

Id be concerned about driving over the converter and running out of rpm before you made it to the 1320" mark. Any of the turbos mentioned will run 10's. The 6262 journal will spool as fast as the 6265 BB and will leave you almost enough to get the 9.5". If you keep the 10" plan on it being over 5500 the entire time the engine is under full boost.

Ordered the 6265 ball bearing with a ported S cover and the .63 exhaust housing. I guess we'll see how things shake out in a couple months once all the snow and salt is gone. Thanks for all the advice guys.

Are you selling your old turbo? What is the exhaust housing? .82 or .85?

So far I'm loving the 6265 bb. Spool is considerably faster on my setup. It's nice to see it build some boost when all I'm doing is giving it a little gas to pass a car on the freeway. That's with the converter locked in overdrive. The weather hasn't been cooperating lately, so I haven't gotten to play with it much. Should be a fun summer. Thanks again everyone.

By the way, the 6780 q-trim is now listed in the parts for sale section. Take a look.
