Precision Turbo customers entered Memorial Day weekend with wins & record performances from all corners of the racing world.
At the ninth annual World Ford Challenge in St. Louis, Brian Carpenter grabbed the biggest win of his career with a strong performance in Pro Outlaw. Carpenter qualified first with a 6.901 at 215.37. Precision Turbo customers grabbed the Top 5 qualifying positions. In the all Precision finals, Carpenter out ran Chip Havemann 6.996 to 7.077. In Wild Street, Mike Keenan was the victor during Sunday’s eliminations with an 8.741/168.40 final round over Eric Olsen.
At the NSCA opener at Cecil County, Leo Barnaby III led a strong field of cars in Super Street where Precision Turbo customers grabbed the Top 3 qualifying positions. In another all Precision Turbo final, Barnaby scored a mild upset with a 7.23 to defeat David Hance’s off the throttle 8.23 at 136.23.
The annual Buick’s at Bowling Green event saw Dave Fiscus defeat Cal Hartline in Turbo Street Outlaw with an 8.83 to 8.98 victory.
In the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact series, Brad Personett scored a hat trick by setting the new national speed and ET records while winning the event and extending his point’s lead in the point’s chase. Personett became the first driver in this series to crack 220 mph, which extended Precision Turbo’s streak of MPH records that began when Grant Downing became the first driver to break 200 MPH four years ago.
In other Sport Compact race action, NOPI Xbox Pro 4 Cyl record holder Chuck Seitsinger was the winner at Budd’s Creek, MD and extended his point’s lead in a quest for his second national championship in three years.
