Hi I’m 17 and I’m trying to buy an 86-87 GN and I was just wondering iv been told that you can make a GN so that the front end will pop up off the ground, but also keep it street legal (and everyday drivable), all my friends have the rice-burners and so on, but I just have always like the GN, and I was just wondering cus the look on some cocky kids face when the front end pops up…….. Id kill for it

you dont need to have the front end lift to get crazy looks from the ricers, all you gotta do is tell them it has a 250 shot of NAAAAAAAAWWSSS and put a 747 wing on the back of your car......

but yes the cars are fast and are relatively in expensive to make faster, good luck with your hung

Raising the front end on a stript usually results in a 10-11 sec pass.........i've leave it at that.

Ok but still, I figured it would need to be a 10 second car, but can u make one and keep it an everyday driver?

Depends on your definition of DD. I've seen 8sec DD's before.

Ah to be young and full of dreams.......
With the purchase of a decent car and the mods needed to lift the wheels on the street you should need at least 12-15k. For 5-8k you can still buy a decent car, lightly mod it and kill 99.9% of the rice out there and be a very comfortable daily driver.
Start doing your homework by reading everything you can on TBs and if there is a dragstrip near you go and see if any TBs are there. Check them out and see what it takes to run the times.
Where you located? There are some nice cars for sale here for the 5-8k range that would a very nice start for you.

heare is an old way of pulling the front wheels of the car off the ground. undo the syay bar and disconect the front shocks.. the shocks control lift and deceleration. removing these will do it on about any real wheel drive car. BUT be extremely carful as the control of the car will recact violently off the line... pop the wheels then drop them, keek speed to a mimium.

all you need is some good hydrolics. then you can lift the wheels with the best of them.

i'm guessing your completely new to fast cars. you will be amazed how fast these cars are stock, you won't be anywhere near lifting the wheels though. honestly that should not even be a concern. if your like every other 17 year old i know (myself included, i got my t-type at 17) you really don't know exactly what you want. yea it would be cool to lift the wheels on the street but your going to have traction problems LONG before you ever get to the point of lifting the wheels up. Even still i'd love to have a car that can do that at will but unless you have a tube frame car with some massive slicks in the back you can all but forget about it happening on the street.

if you want to impress people brea the wheels loose at 30mph. it doesn't necessarly mean your fast but it does give that impression, and its a lot of fun. thats probably a little closer to what you should be looking for. start looking for t-type or gn, 84 or newer will probably be enough to put a smile on your face.
