what I hate is when you press 1 then get some freaking red dot on the other end that speaks broken english!!!!!!!!!!! I start raising hell telling them to get me someone on the phone NOW that speaks english!!!

what in the heck does that have anything to do with pressing 1 for english on the telephone?
Maybe it would benefit people to LEARN ENGLISH!
Honestly though, when I know I'm calling an int'l business I understand that my language is not the only one they expect to encounter. What aggravates me is driving by the social services complex and seeing signs like 'Officio de Vetranos' and knowing that our tax dollars are going toward dual language paperwork and supporting people who don't have to learn our language to live in our country. Don't get me wrong tho, it's not the people I'm against.
