I have an 84 gn with an 87 2004r in it. While changing the pan gasket I noticed a pressure switch or solenoid on passenger side middle to rear of trans. It has a green wire going to it and it looks like a temperature switch from a third gen (kindof). I screwed it out and took it to every place here in town. Nobody can help me. The little brass conn where wire snaps to is broken. The people who seem to have them online dont have pics. It said 240 or 280-340 kpa on it. I should have wrote it down but didnt. What is it exactly and where can I purchase a new one?

About how much

How much are they? and what are syptoms when they go bad? I see several on here say they changed theirs as part of regular service.

The pressure switch's are still available from GM, part # 8683502, cost is about $7- there is two of them and they are both the same- I'd replace both- HTH's, :)

there is a new version out per bruce. there like 14 bucks each or somthing. as what they do when they go out im not sure. bruce said these ones will never fail but gm really likes them so thats why there 14 bucks a piece. worth it in my opinion.
