wondering what would be the price range on a rebuild of our trannys? Mine have been shifting real bad and took it to my mechanic and was told i need a rebuild... would be 1500! So i wanna know if that sound about right? and im guessing for a standard rebuild. i havent talk to the tranny guy yet. im wondering if im better off with sending it to a transmission tech that on this site and have years of experience with these transmission, if its in the same price range. Or if that price sound right what should i make sure the guy rebuilding it put in it?

That sounds high for a rebuild with added hard parts. I'd go with a supporting vendor on here. You won't go wrong there.

i have the tranny in the shop and i wanted know should i put a shift kit in? if so what kind? and the only thing i purchased for it was the 200-4r super servo kit and a TCC solenoid... should i get anything else?

The Super Servo eliminates the Cushion spring and can cause 2-1 downshift clunk. CK's and Sonnax brand doesn't.

So i did get the tranny rebuilt and the results werent good. i paid a lil over 1800. First off, when i drove it, shifting was extremely hard and wouldnt shift out of 2nd. So i took it back and they put a new kick down cable and govener. As a result of that they set the shifting very early (in 3rd gear at about 25mph) and now my speedo is 15mph off. So i just drooped it back off and the reason i couldnt get the "ck shift was the having to order and the amount of time getting it i couldnt deal with, due to starting a new job and needing the car. Also i order that super servo before i got the message (ssedan64)"

Now when i say that its shifting hard, it literally feel like the transmission mounts are bad. they say the hard shifting comes from the "super servo" is that true? from my understanding i thought it shifts smother! but what do you guys think it could be tranny ppl have know clue what there doing? or get rid of the super servo?

Wirh the correct calibration the super servo is not a problem. The 2nd oil shouldn't be drilled out too much or it will hit too hard. If your speedo is off then they switched either the governor gear or speedo driven gear. $1800 is a lot to pay for a rebuild with no hard parts

it was completely rebuilt and shift kit put in w/ the servo. ok i figured it had something to do with the gov. they say they matched the gears up correctly but they are going to get it right with all they money i paid. So it shouldnt be the servo, what about the shift kit could something be wrong with it to make it shift hard?
