I was all set and ready to drop the motor back in today, but discovered a cracked flex plate. Ooops. So anyway....

I'll be dropping the motor in and bolting up everything tomorrow. I would like to prime the motor. I pulled the cam distributor out and saw that my chevy oil pump primer rod fits the buick. Is this an acceptable way of getting the oil pump primed? I figured if I spun the pump for a bit with my drill, rotated the motor 90* and did it again, and again, and again until I had moved everything 360 I should be good. Want to make sure I'm getting everything pre-lubed for startup on monday or tuesday...

You're doing good so far.:) When you prime with the drill keep spinning it till you get oil flowing out the top of the pushrods.

Kewl...just like BBC/SBC stuff! Thanks....and sorry I got this in the wrong section. I've had a few beers and, well, you know...

Yes, I rotate every so often to make sure all oiling holes are exposed. Thanks!
