the problem i am have it is giving me bad data .It shows me the car is moving as soon as it starts showing me real time data, the tps is off by about .20 more then it is .the duty cycle is show ing %60 at idle . To name a few things.I hooked my old lap top to it
and it is working fine.THe old lap top is a dell 486 24mag ram.
and the one i am having problems with is a 1.33 pentom 24 mg ram . Both have windows 95 installed on them.

If it works on one laptop, and not the other than I would suggest changing the bad laptops parallel port settings. Try ECP/EPP, Bi-directional, Standard, whatever it takes.

Also try not going through a dos "window", but rather booting straight to dos via "Start", "Shut Down", "Restart in MS-DOS Mode".

actually get in touch with conleys and tell them you need the adapter for Direct scan. there were certain computers that had an issue and the adapter will solve this bad reading you are getting. I know first hand exactly what you are talking about, this is especially true if you have the older cable connection for direct scan this was actually corrected in th past couple of years. Try that, check the site he mentions it (chu) that the old cable caused a connection issue you add this between the computer and the cable and no more bad readings. And it's free.... (if you're registered)
