this is the problem and i dont have much of an idea of what it could be, on friday noticed that the oil was foamy like whip cream. possibly oil and coolant mixing???
The oil it's self looks good but the breather still has the foam in it which is baffling me. any input will be helpful.

thanks

Sounds like a headgasket. I've done it way too many times. You could possibly get lucky like maybe an intake gasket leaking coolant into the water but most likely it's a headgasket. I would shut the car down, don't drive it like that until you know what's wrong. The antifreeze will eat your bearings while the car sits and the water kills nearly everything. If you're running antifreeze, I suggest you drain the oil and coolant, put clean oil in and start it for a few seconds to get the clean stuff to the bearings. When mine didn't blow a gasket very badly it would only show up on the breather. If it was bad, the oil itself looked like your breather.

Have you had any detonation, does it run ok? I would start with a compression test or better yet a leakdown test.

There's also some brands of oil that will get that way on their own, although I can't recall which ones. I think the post I read that in was from way back before the server crash here. I'm thinking that Mobil brand was one mentioned that was prone to this, but I can't recall for sure, unfortunately. I would think that if you did have a headgasket go, you'd notice when you drain your oil, if it's diluted with coolant. The 2 will separate if they are together in the crankcase.

I hope it's something simple like that, for ya. Good luck!

the car is still running good. when the oil was drained over the weekend it looked fine. there was no traces of water or antifreeze in it. im new to this car so i dont know alot about them. i guess ill have to dig in to it some to fine out. thanks for the help guys.

This time of year........hot/cold..........condensation? If no water visible in the oil and no change in running/overheating?
