alright, after all the transmission troubles i've had i take my girl to the track and spend the whole day running 13.28's at best with one 12.96 pass. my biggest problem was spoolup on the line, i couldn't get more than 5lbs and it came up sloooooooooow. this all started when i put the 110 in there, that's all i did and no changes and she started acting stupid. i remember one run going down the track after turning up the wick ( 23-24 lbs ) and i launch ( flashes 23-24lbs ), i'm going down the track looking at the boost gauge and it's going 23,20,19,17,15,14.  , 14 friggin' pounds at the end of the track, and when i backed out of it instead of turbo chatter i heard a big rush of air. i knew what that meant, i had a loose connection in my intercooler piping somewhere. i hunted for that, but nothing turned up. i'll try to pull the piping off this weekend and check everything. could the intercooler be leaking too.
now, on the way home i put in some 94 and the car ran a little better. i tried to do a break stand last night and got the same results ( 5lbs ) and it will not break the tires. that 5lbs is with my foot to the floor. could a header crack worsen at the track, bmason believes i have a header crack that is causing the car to act funny.
i'm running 17-18lbs right now on 94 and my 02's are super rich at 832 mV.

any insight would be greatly appreciated. thanks, beforehand.

cracked header

that would definitly cause that type of problem.... i dont think you can still have unwelded factory headers on and there not be a crack ...on my 15,000 mile gn ....there was a header crack ...and this thing is babied! so ... most likely that is what causing you from boosting up ...and if not...at least its a start!

Shouldn't you have a race chip in there to take advantage of that 110 octane fuel? It burns slower so it might have been choking the engine.

i had the street chip in first, then switched to the race chip. same results. i'll get the header done. the thing is, the car really didn't start doing this until i put the 110 in it. i'll be running my usual 104 unleaded from now on.

mike, i have the scoop to my roomate for him to do it mike, and i went outside the other day to get a CD out of his jeep and the scoop was still sitting there. he gave me some lame excuse, so i apologize for not having it out. i hope you aren't upset. i should be down that way this weekend maybe. i'll have it with me.

are you talking cam2 110?

if so it was probly the fuel ...i havent even tried to run it in a while now sincei was having the problem where my car was faster on 93 octane

with the same tune 93 v/s cam2 i couldnt get anymore boost with 110 without knock.

vp116 is a different world

yep, cam2 110! i'll still be looking for leaks in the piping though, plus today when i drove my car i noticed when i re-started the car after driving it that the 02 volts weren't moving much out of the 300 mV range.

one more question, how come the engine seems to shut off for a split second after backing out of the throttle. this is another thing that's going on.

I was just reading the GN list while this page loaded and read a post with an answer to the same question. Here is the text.

Subject: Car Dies after letting off the gas.

Q: Finally got the WE4 started. Put in a Walbro 307 from Tod F. The car pulls hard but the car has died a couple of times in mid cruise. It happens right after I quickly let off the gas. It does not die if I rev it in park and let off the gas.

A: You might check your minimum air setting for the throttle blade. If not set properly, the car will die on deceleration, especially when you abruptly pull your foot off the throttle after a hard run. Have a look at:
http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/ecmsensors/ecmpage.html for some info on setting this.

thanks tim, i have been having idle problems with this 62mm throttle body. the blade sticks sometimes and the car idles at almost 1000 rpms, i tap the gas and it goes back down to around 700 or less.

yeah, my car is a work in progress.:D

Mine is doing the same thing too. I think it might be the TV cable as I adjusted it in 1 click.

Gotta check that out.

Since you posted about your O2 voltage not moving much, it may be possible that your O2 sensor is dead.

man, must be nice living in the city where the best team in the NBA is.

My brother inlaw has season tickets, and I go to about 3 or 4 games a year with my son. If they went to the finals this year, I would of been able to go to an NBA finals. Oh well, maybe next year. My wife is a bigger Kings fan than me (she really gets emotional).

I was just thinking that if you flow propane in to the snokel with the engine warmed up (in closed loop), the O2 voltage should flatline above 800mv, if not, your sensor may be dead
