Problems with alky tune

Working on an 87 GN that had a miss, have got that portion of it figured out, but it won't run worth a darn with the alky chip, and alky being used. If you turn the alky off, and use the old 17psi street chip, it runs great. When using the alky the power surges in and out, boost raises and drops, over-all just doesn't run good. No knock, o2's in the lower 800's. Any suggestions??
