So now that I have got some miles on my new set up I have been going to the track. Befor I have been seeing 1.9 sixty, 11. teens and at 128. Good boost through all gears. On 93.

Now the last four weeks I have been seeing 10 psi first, 12 psi in second and 20 in third. I have change boost controlers twice and changed my boost sorce from the turbo to the intake. I am using a delta gate. Now I am seeing 2.0 sixty, 11.65 at 123. On 93

The wastegate is the only thing I have not tried replacing. I have a Tial gate that I purchased and have not put on yet. But befor I get made and hope that this it I was hoping for some input. I know that this thing is much faster now but not with this damn boost or lack of boost issue.

But if I can get this handled I want to leave on the brake with slicks.

The Deltagates have a rusting problem and with race gas it is even worse. Check the valve seat for rust/pitting which will cause boost problems. Been there, done that.

Just wanted to hear that. I will be putting on my new Tial gate soon. But mine seems to open too far in lower gears. Just when I start making alittle more power those damn gremlins find a place to nest. I need some bug spray.

your probably getting to the limit of the delta gate....your pushing more air than it can handle imo.

I wish. I need more boost. So if I remove the gate and weld the whole shut that will fix it, right.

+1

Just went through this last week, finally pinned my extremely slow spool times and inconsistent boost to the valve on my HKS gate being rusty and coverd in lead deposits and the seat on the downpipe was severly pitted, less than 20% of the valve actually contacted the seat, a good clean up and its a whole new car, and rock solid boost control...Hth, Ryan....

Thanks for the info. Installing my Tial gate as we speak. Can't wait till race day.

What spring rating did you get? At first, i got a 15, but i wasnt happy with it, because even with my boost controller increased, the wastegate would still flutter at 15 psi, but itd go to 20+ but it felt slow and didnt feel like anything fancy. I ended up getting the highest spring rating i could get, and it's perfect! Hope yours goes swell, let us hear the results. I bet you the spool up will be faster too

I started with a 7 lbs spring with the boost controller and then put in a spring from work that gave me 17 lbs on the gate itself. Then added the top port and got it to 20. But not in first or second. Just third and forth. And only since I have got it running again. Had good boost befor the new heads. I just thought going from irons to gn1's would make me faster. Maybe I should put the irons back on.
