programming door remote on 99 tahoe

Dealer wants 67 bucks for a new door remote and anouther 45 to program it. Which means set up app. bring truck in and old remote and use some type of comp. to set it up. any ways i can do it myself.

yea, but i dont know how. check the chevy truck forum.

Start with the ignition OFF, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel. Turn ignition key ON, OFF, ON, OFF. Release power unlock button on the door panel. The locks will cycle once.
Hold down the keyless entry transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for 15 seconds. The locks will again cycle once.
Repeat step #2 for each additional keyless entry transmitter.
Turn the ignition on to exit the keyless entry transmitter programming mode. Programming is now complete. hope this helps

my mistake i thought this was a 99 pickup the 99 tahoe you use a paper clip and open it up and use it to jump termals 4 and 8 on the ALDL which is where a scan tool would plug in 4 and 8 are on the top row just count 4 over and touch the clip to the termal and then 8 is the very end and the door locks are goin to cycle then you hold the lock and unlock right after the locks cycle you will need to do all the transmitters at one time while the ALDL is jumped if you don't you will knock a already programed transmitter out.. sorry about the confusion it has been a long week... turbotoy

I just opened my original transmitter and it says to reset, press unlock and lock for 7 seconds near car. What does this mean.

after a battery replace it usually needs to be resinked to do that you open the drivers door and stand inside the door opening and press the lock and unlock button together for about a minute or untill the lock cycle if they don't the transmitter is USUALLY toast if it was working you most lickly have a bad transmitter. turbotoy
