So the first thing I started to do was take off the intercooler. Part of spring cleaning. Here are some new pics. Comments encouraged. I'll be using a O2 sensor safe carb cleaner to blast it. I'll include some other pics of possible problem areas as well. Thanks for watching.

Thanks! Silly question, recommended solvents and scrubbing tools? I wanna do her right. Also, just took off my k&n, probably isn't supposed to be gooy.

I soak rusted parts in evaporust smaller items like nuts and bolts , used rust bullet on frame and floor pans with wire brush , purple power degreaser cut 50/50 in spray bottle is great and cheap at Wally World, careful with any solvents like brake cleaner it will remove paint , I also use isopropyl alcohol cut 50/50 another safe great cleaner, but get ready with lots of old rags to ruin , by hand is good to start, keep water away from coil pack and relays on fenders and don't get upset when some of the paint comes off your inter cooler when your really clean it, that thing probably need a pressure washer on it , very careful with old brittle plastic connectors and rubber stuff ie vacuum lines , clean maf sensor with only maf cleaner and read up on how to clean( a delicate piece), best tool is the wife's kitchen brush on most things LOL
take it apart slowly couple pieces at a time and the put back together so you don't get lost , clean what you can while stuff is out of the way and go drive it every time back together for checks and thats what you got it for

get a new belt first I recommend the gates or continental (gator back ) and fuel system cleaning flushing a must before a drive, well all that is in the good threads guys have posted for you ie spring cleaning and what not have fun!!!

As for flushing fluids, I'm hoping I can get it running enough to drive it to a garage for that. Don't have the equipment to do it myself. I actually have a brand new belt from factory that's been stored and never used. I'll tackle that myself hopefully. Any advice on that? Looks like a pain in the ass. Might as well do it with the intercooler off.

its really simple to change the belt route it around everything put a ratchet on the tensioner and pull off the tension and then slip over alternator pully , once you take it off you'll see

I used mineral spirits to clean out my original IC. Followed by water from the hose, followed by rubbing alcohol to help displace the water. Then I stuck a blow dryer in one end & let it run for a while & then swapped to other side.

DO NOT use some of the Purple Power types of cleaners. Read the fine print on the back of the container to see if it attacks aluminum. I learned the hard way on some other aluminum parts.

good tip JM, I should have clarified the degreaser purple power just for grimy engine bay and frame stuff , wasn't even thinking about telling him how to clean out IC , figured he might have read some of threads guys have given him on his other posts ;)
I just use some lawn mower gas to clean mine out :p

I've been told kerosene and I also have an O2 sensor safe carb cleaner too. I have a shop vac I'll tape to it and let it run haha

Careful with flammable stuff and the shop vac. Some will spark at the motor, and boom.
I'll definitely use the carb cleaner first. I'd rather avoid kerosene, I'll make sure to rinse thoroughly before I attach the vacuum but I won't be putting the IC back on for a bit anyways so she can dry well. I need to find replacement couplings for all those connections. Don't know where to start with those.
