pros and cons #50 injectors ?

How is the driveability on these injectors ??I am trying to choose between #50 or #42 1/2 for the mods I have. I dont know what kind of fuel pump I have I had a red armstrong before but it went out I dont know if the person fixed it or bought a new one but it is hotwired to the battery. This was 2 years ago when I knew nothing about GN's I got one because my brother had one but he moved and I was forced to learn everything I can. For all I know it just could have been a blown fuse ??

Injectors are fine, it's the calibration in the chip that makes them nice or not.

IMO, the only injectors worth investing in now are the 60's, there's just no use is buying marginally sized injectors.

There's some really current ie new chips out for them. Lots of the early chips were rather haphazard in their calibrations. Might as well get the newer ones, IMO.

Now I'm confused.
Is it really wise to install the new 60-pounders on a street driven
hotair with the standard upgrades? (i.e., turbo, ECM, fuel, exhuast, etc.) Isn't it overkill?

Even with the proper chip, how will these injectors affect things
like fuel economy? I haven't heard much about them
yet which is why I'm skeptical. I plan to research this but if
anyone on the forum has some facts to pass along, I'm all ears.

With a properly burned chip the fuel economy will be the same as any other injector.

That said,for the average hotair car that might go low 12's on it's best day,42.5# injectors are plenty.You can go 50's if you want,but that's money best spent elsewhere.

I heard 42 1/2 injectors are a pain to tune ?? What problems do people come across when tuning these (42 1/2) ?

Used to be a pain, got 'em in mine, runs smooth as a kitten.

The 42.5s run good in the wifes 87, very well mannered. I plan on putting a set in my 85 when the time comes. It is all in the programming. I am running a Reds chip and it works great. I also have a modern musclecar and PTE chips and they work well also. HTH.

Both injectors run fantastic on the street. 42.5's used to be quirky but everyone found out chip wise how to make em run great . I have 50's and they also run fantastic. If you already have 42.5's and you don't want to run faster then mid 12's leave em in.. If you can buy 42.5' or 50's for same price go with the 50's to be sure you are never underfueled.

FWIW,I'm running the 42.5's and I've got loads of fuel left,I'm on the leanest setting on my maxeffort with about 40# of fuel pressure...
