those of you running this turbo, what are some of your et's,& at what boost levels? anyone push it over 25psi........just curious....thanx!!

Nashty (Roger Davis) has one on his GN that was featured in GM High Tech Performance mag and his car ran 10.57 @129mph, but I'm not sure at what boost level. The PT70 is a 4 bolt turbo and according to www.precisionte.com and is good for mid 9's if you have the motor that can handle that sort of power. I'm sure that turbo can handle 30+ psi if you wanted to run it that high.

I always thought I had a pt70 from what the previous owner told me but I guess I don't,cause my turbo is a 3 bolt.I definitely know that the compressor wheel is 70mm but the exh. housing is a ported.63.What does that make it?Anyways, thank you for the info 86brick.Can anyone tell me what turbo I have?...

You may be able to get the 70 in 4 bolt but generally it is a three bolt. Brian Weaver and Turbo1Dr have 3 bolts. Brian hasn't made it to the track but Vernon runs mid 6's in the 1/8th at 107 MPH which equates to low 10's. I think his boost level is high 20's. Search the members for his site.

I ran the 10.57 using 23 psi. On Saturday at Nats I ran a 10.25 @ 131 on 25 psi. My 1/8 was 6.5 @ 106.5 (for reference).

I have a 4 bolt on center and I love it.

Thanx for the replies guys, now I know what I have:) .NASHTY,those are impressive times, sweet looking car too.I hope I can also accomplish my 1st 10sec. run with the fresh motor this year.Thanx again guys.........

Well if you have a 70 turbo and it's a 3 bolt it's a PT70-1 or it's the Stealth turbo which is also a 3 bolt turbo that uses a 70mm wheel. Both are capable of 10.0's (about 750hp). Nashty, congrats on the new best times. Your car is hauling some serious ass!!! Do you mind telling me what billet roller cam you have? I'm guessing a 214/214.

The 4 bolt may or may not flow better but having the wastegate on the crossover definetly takes some congestion out of the turbine housing, think about it. It also cleans up the engine compartment, IMO.

Thanks for the compliment, that 10.25 felt like a fast run, everything finally came together and it ran like it should have. If I could get a 1.36 60', I'd be very close to the 9's but I'm in no hurry to get there, I still need a cage.

The cam is a billet 210, Dan (PTE) talked me out of the bigger 214 and I'm not sorry about that.

Hey Roger, It was nice how finally I was able to meet you down at the nationals, That is a sweet car and you have great numbers to back it up. You only made one pass and went 10.25 131mph that is very impressive.

Take care buddy

Many of the TSM racers run this turbo (it is the max size allowed). Jason Cramer used it at about 27/28 pounds to run his 9.96. Roy Garcia used it to run 10.40s, Dave England used it to run 10.50s and I used it for my 10.60s. Dave was admitedly running ~28 psi, not sure about Roy, and I barely saw 23 psi.

Hi

Hi Rodger,
You know the funny part that with these combos which my GN should fit in with TSM was able to be driven 513 non trailer miles back to Chicago. And not one problem! Glad to meet you and your wife and brother and thanks for your help.

Steve:)

BTW: I know it's only 400 miles home but we took the senic route and I do feel for the people who lived near I 64 on the way home those flood waters were very, very high on the bridges and feilds flooded.

P trim wheel.

I might be convinced to put on a 3 bolt housing to run TSM next year but I like the clean looks of the 4 bolt.

Why the heck are they still limiting the exhaust bolt housings? They are pretty much scienced out now anyway so the 3 flows what a 4 bolt on center does (if not more). My turbo isn't a tangential, its a radial, so why the limit?

I'd like to add that I did that off a foot brake (200R4) with stock control arms and left at 10 #'s using a 3" D/P.

Seems the rules were open to some interpretation anyway.

Aside from Jason's car, what was the next fastest?

The 3-bolt turbo rule is Lasseter's. It is also there to limit the exhaust housings to the point that I don't have to tech that at the races.:D

TSM Fastest Qualifying times were:
  1. Jason Cramer - 10.13
  2. Roy "B"Garcia - 10.42
  3. Dave England - 10.57
  4. Scott Simpson - 10.67
  5. Rudbeck, Judy, and Egan - 10.70s (Egan may have qualified with a 10.87)
    [/list=1]

  1. That's a pisser about Walt's car, that thing is much stronger than it did. He's a darn good racer and his car should have been in the ten teens too, it will be by Morocco - he has to, that's Murphy's law working on my behalf.

Just eliminate the exhaust housing rule and keep the 70 comp. wheel rule. You'll get one more competitor! Where do I make the TSM rules coordinator benevolence donation? :D

I love the stock block class. Don't let it fall apart, it was as grass roots as it gets.

TSM

Hey Scott a quick question. when are you's going to make or revise the rules for next year because I would like to run in it but my intake you said was illegal. And someone told me it was because they are no longer available but to me I didnt see much of a advantage to me since mine ain't even port matched or ported. Verses a fully ported intake. Just my opinion because I would have loved to compete in that class.

Steve:)

T-70?

10.27@132. P trim, 4 bolt, 3" THDP, thru the muffs, 3700#.
6.50@105.5 1/8. 1.45 short times.

Back to Lookin for a solid 9.

Thanks roger! Now that i have all the water dumped out of the ecm and all the wiring dried out it should run much better.
