PT51 ups downs ??

i asked this in the wrong area thought i better put it where it belongs i don't see any talk about the 50 series turbos is there a reason why ??

Maybe because they've been out a few years now and there's nothing left to say.

My PTE51 I bought from Ramchargers has about 30K on it now and works fine on the GN.

3000 stall now although it spooled okay with the stock D5 as well with quick spooling chip software and all.

Which one are you looking to get?

the reason i was wondering is becuase i am looking at precisions catalog & see that that they have quite a list of turbos in the same price range i was origanally thinking TA 49 i said PT51 but i meant 52 seems like more bang for the buck. since i have the stall for it. what do ya think?

Well I went ball bearing on my main car so I'd say CPT-65 ball bearing from Jack Cotton.

Or call PTE and see what they recommend with what they have for 3000 stall.

Don't know much about the 52's at all.

54's like 3400-3600 stall.

I use a 3000 stall with my PT54. Spools great with MaxEffort "R"

I have a PTE 51 and a 3000 (soon to be 2800) converter and LOVE it.. I have had it on for about 4-5 years now..

My dad has a PT-54 on his car with a Deltrans 2,800 and the car spools just fine it is a nice steet , strip turbo.

Hmmm maybe the 54 is for me. as soon as i am ready (which wont be long ) i will call precicision & get thier input.& go from there. THANKS MUCH

I have a 51 turbo & it spools ok with my stock converter..street driving hardly tell the difference from stock but on track noticed a slower 60 ft time..I wish I had went TE61 turbo really..or even bigger & a converter..I think the TE61 is much better turbo myself..Now I think id go PT61 & a 3200 converter maybe..heard the PT61 is an awesome turbo..too many number keeps everyone confused as hell on these turbos..isnt it funny how a TE60 is actually rated a smaller turbo that a TE51?
