How streetable would this turbo be with a stroker set up??? Is anyone running it now with that type of combo. Anybody backing it with a 2004r? I have considered going with a stroker set up with a smaller turbo but it seems as though most frown on it..Thoughts??

I have a PTQ 70 single BB with an .85 precision exhaust housing, no stroker motor with a 2004r behind it and a 3,200 stall NL and its very streetable, spools fast and once it comes alive it pulls like a freight train. :)

I vote for not real streetable. I have the HPQ version and it spools fine with the stroker but it is too much for the street in my opinion. Of course my car is practically set on kill. I took my wife & son to the gas station a couple weeks ago & punched it at about 40-50mph. My wife literally started crying-not balling, but whimpering, and she has been riding in/driving the car for years. But it is faster than last year. If you think you will run it at low boost, you might as well just run a smaller turbo in its efficiency range.

i agree with johnplogii , id say its a little big for the street (i dont have a stroker though). if youre not planning on racing from a stoplight or anywhere in first gear then it will be ok. if i build 4-5 pounds off the line in the street, im seeing full boost by around mid second gear. the pull is unreal!!

I have that setup, with the stroker and a dusty 3400 NL converter. I think its great.. On the street I run it about 20-22psi and it hauls a$$.

I agree very streetable does not have to be a BB if you have the right TC ..butTTTT I found my ptq 70 needed a ported shroud compressor cover to drive on the street as with out one there was to much turbo slam ...ch ch ch and this made the car very unpleasent to drive..the TC i used was a PTC 9 in 3200 suggested by dusty..

sorry gtq ,,stroker ,,ported iron heads 2004r trans ,,rjc front mount ,,car is driven only on the street

I don't see a problem with running a 70 on the street. Mine is a GTQ journal, stock stroke, and a Turbo 350. Right now the converter is way too loose and it still needs to be tuned. I'm still running my 54 program and can not wait to get everything right. For the first time in very long time I'm having a blast driving Old Reliable.

You just got to remember what the car is capable of. Because when it hits, it's like a freight train.

My 70GTQdbb is very streetable its a big turbo so it takes a lil longer to spool but when it pulls it pulls HARD .

F##kin' absolutely deadly on the street!!! 22psi on 93 and alky--- you want nothing to do w/ my car on the street!!!!! oh yeah a/c, cruise , l/u, and cruise all there!!!!!
