Have a new PTS sheet metal pan with rear pickup, and I think somebody dropped something on the pickup and dented it when I had it sitting around...

Is this dent/bend in there intentionally?

Thanks in advance...

The dent and bend are not suppose to be there. The question is, "How much will this interfere with the pickup and flow?" Shouldn't be hard to cut out and splice in a new section of copper tubing, or replace with a new filter from PTS.

Thanks, that's what I figured... might have to splice a junction in there... everything else is good.

i swear mine has the same dent. I think its from the unit being pushed up by the pan against the valvebody when the pan is installed... There are two type of filters to be used with it. One is nylon and deeper and the other is the brass looking one. The nylon is for the deep pan and the other is for the shallow setup. I honestly don't think its gonna affect much of anything.

Mine has the same dent & bend also. It was like that new before being installed. I think it's there to make the filter sit level.

Good to know, thanks guys...

I hadn't looked at it in a while, and was wondering if my memory was fading on me or what

It is normal

It DOES NOT restrict flow. It is there for a reason. Like the one gentleman said, it allows the filter to sit flat. It is fine, needs nothing, no splice, nothing. Install it and enjoy it. It WILL do the job.
You all have a great day and be safe out there.
