PTS shift kit install, a few more questions. The 4th accumulator spring is above the 2nd acc housing and this 4th spring replaces the stock orange one, right? This 2nd acc spring is shorter, and thicker, and would go case, piston, new shorter spring, plate, then 4th acc housing, right? A lot of this is in the instructions, but I was not 100% sure.

Also, for the check balls, I guess using vaseline to hold them (5 total) up into the proper holes is ok? Then 2 check balls would sit in the VB during the bolt-up. And from looking at the diagram, is 7 total check balls to be used the correct TOTAL final number?

Lastly, the hole marked "leave alone" does not need anything? I had one check ball that fell out I did not see where it belonged. It looks like there is something already up in that area, so just checking.

Thought of one last thing, want to do this job once :) . Is it necessary to use any sealer/shellac on the plate and Accum gaskets?

Update...My son, age 9, just helped me put the check balls in under the car, he read the VB schematic well  .

Do you think they would object with child labor laws if we hired him?
Sounds like a mechanic in waiting......:D

If you need anything you can always call..... Good Luck...

Bruce, thanks a lot AGAIN!! I will sleep better tonight. I didn't even know the names of these trans parts until I started this job. It seems to be working out for the best, can't wait to get it all back together, I'm getting closer. And yea, my son may pick mechanics or engineering, something technical. He really analyzes work he does, like his dad :) . He was just beaming when we put those check balls in the right spot from his reading of the schematic.
