I removed the converter to replace the front seal and noticed that the splines on the outer shaft were worn on one side of every spline. I would like to install a hardened spline but after I pulled the pump mount bolts the pump won't slide out past the o-ring! Am I missing anything? I didn't want to bust anything by snatching to hard or prying. Any advice would be appreciated :D

Did you pull the pan and take the filter out and remove the TCC solenoid? These will keep the pump from being pulled out.

Why..

Does this look like it is about to get real ugly?

Anybody else get that feeling?

Hey, this late I have to entertain myself somehow..:D LOLOL

Bruce, do you have anything to add that might help me with the pump and outer shaft replacement? I have never done anything more than a shift improver kit to a trans before this. I also plan on buying one of your 9/11 converters also. From what I have been reading you are the one with all the knowledge on these trannies, so any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

he covers most of it in the stenthning the 200 thread..if you check it out it may scare you...

You still need a pump puller to do it right. Been there done that with no puller.
