Push Rod length

Just got the TA Eliminator heads on and measuring to zero lash/preload I get 8.775.
Should I add the preload of .030 to the push rod or can I adjust the 8.775 push rod with the nut to get my preload number?
Any help is appreciated

When i went to a Comp Cams roller cam setup. I measured for the push rods i needed and added the preload to the length and ordered them from FullThrottleSpeed. That was about 6 years ago without any problems so far. I use the T&D roller rockers with Champion aluminum GN1 heads.I didn't want to try to adjust for the preload by adjusting the roller rockers.
