pushrod questions 2

just finished checking. how crictical in closeness to the center of the stem do you have to be? here's 2 pics. the first one is with length at 9 1/8 which translates to 9.125..second one is at 9 3/32 which is about 9.094. i did measurement with a combination square and a straight edge. i'll have machine shop at work double check measurement for me tomorrow.

I'm interested to see what one of the more experienced builders on here has to say, but I'm pretty sure the second one is best.

my feeling too..the first looks a little on the high side..
