My girl smokes...nasty, I know. She found an ad in Maxim for a cigarette called Quest, but it's only available in the north east and the midwest. Anyone heard about em or even tried em? I was thinking of having one of you Yankees pick me up a carton or two and ship em to me...see if I can't help her kick the 'bit. :D

Spend the $$, time, effort and concern on helping her actually stop.

Like alcoholics and other addicts know, "it don't count till you quit".

The allegedly "safer" tar & nicotine cigs actually cause the smoker to subconsciously inhale deeper & hold the smoke in longer, as the body compensates in order to get its customary fix. Tumors of the lower lung are then more likely to result, and indeed are on the rise as people switch to so-called "safer" cigs, tragically thinking it'll help.

There are very helpful prescriptions to aid a sincere desire to stop.
Get an appointment/Call your Doc or ask any up-to-date Pharmacist for their recommendations. Research shows the newest methods/formulations help many to quit "easier" with these temporary supplements, as the body de-toxifies.

Motivation is everything, though. One suggestion might be for the 2 of you going to visit some Chemotherapy patients in the Oncology ward of your local hospital...just knock on their door...they'll be glad to have some visitors, I bet.

HTH

Start adding up every cent that you spend on smokes every day on a legal pad on the fridge. Made me quit in 2 weeks when I realized how much money i had pissed away.

Does that work for beer also? :D :D

Just ONE Chemotherapy visit will be in the $5000-$8500 range, depending on what combo is selected...and you'll be glad to pay it...if you have it...a Major-Medical insurance policy may pay a portion. And that's just the beginning...money is the least of it.

The point is the costs can be immeasurable...far beyond counting.

Ok, fellas...let me get this hijacked thread back on what I was asking. I KNOW the cost of cigarettes. I KNOW the dangers. That's why I DON'T SMOKE. She asked about the ciggies, I asked here. Period. They don't sell em near you? Ok, then. Thanks for the comments, but that's not the point of the thread.
