i was there the day chris had his car dynoed. all i can say is, your buddy's supra better be FASSSST!

also, watch out for brian burnside. 8.5 somthings on single turbo stage II and it looks STOCK!

Yes, but this still doens't answer my question lol... How much torque does that motor have? I want to say over 2000 ft lbs just so I can giggle like a schoolgirl. :D

Now that I am able to post, the first thing I would like to say is that I am flattered to be mentioned in the same discussion as this Chris Chow's Grand National. Now that is a street beast.
Jordan even though I asked you not to sign me up for any racing, you did, and now I have people who are accepting the challenge I didnt put up. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not.
I thought he said cars in the same class as me. I wish I could be in the same class as that twin turbo monster passing off as a buick but I think I would be better off racing Vipers then that thing. So if there is anyone with something a bit less ferocious, and a little more tame, then maybe we can set a race up. But I will not race this Chris Chow. I dont grab my ankles for anyone

Jordan, that car probably only has about 1000-1200 lb/ft of torque. These little v6 motors don't produce 1.5 times the torque as horsepower at that level like they do when they are only moderately modified.

Now, someone please get on here and tell me its in the 1500-2000 lb/ft category and I'll giggle like a schoolgirl with jordan. ;)

I understand your point Turbosupra...sounds like your buddy (jordan) was looking to get a rise out of you.
No worries...Supras get their deserved respect on this board.
No matter what, you've definately got a FAST Supra there...I've always loved the way they look. Just hated the way they cost!
One honest question from someone with some interest: How's the overall reliability on Supras running that fast? Just curious...It seems like alot of imports can be made fast (even very fast) but longevity seems to suffer in the long run. (like most race engines...) Just curious how they do as a street brawler (heat etc..)

LOL

I will not race this Chris Chow. I dont grab my ankles for anyone..

sounds like the challanger is back pedaling, if you cant back up your challange then dont ask for one.. :p

I know a guy that will drive his T type up from San deigo in Oct to race in Vegas....Yes drive it up and drive it home....And its the same week end as the supra event too.....so for fun or a beer you two can race.....or something else if you both agree, but Ill buy the winner a beer. His car is 100% street car, oem wheels even. Neil? you out there?

There will undoubtably be many other races for supras of all hp levels that week end....its oct 3rd/4th....

Lining up with a twin turbo GN is basically grabbing your ankles right?

As for reliability of Supras. My only 'official' 9 second pass was that 9.7 and the car handled it well. The only time I get any form of knock is when I'm forced to use anything less then California's allready crap 91 Octane gas. Sometimes the car will be a little fussy with me, if I stay at high RPM's for a long time then she fights back. But as long as I treat her right I have no problems. At high speeds though its a little touch and go. Past 180 you can feel the back end is a little more touchy. It doesnt feel firmly planted to the road which is why I have only gone past that speed 3 times.

Sometimes the price doesnt matter though. Thats why I got the Supra, the price wasnt a concern at the time.

Theres no need to put me down and say I'm backing out of a challenge. As I stated before I didnt make the challenge, Jordan did. I would appreciate it if stopped trying to make me look like an ass hole backing out this 'challenge'.

I dont see you lining up with that TT GN Beast either buddy.

is that for me?

I wasn't exactly trying to sign chris up for any races, perhaps I went about it the wrong way... I didn't even know there were that many SUPRAS, let alone GNs, that ran such times in california. I guess I have the shroud of Texas suburbs pulled over my eyes most of the time :(

Aside from that, I asked if there were any 9/10 second cars, not 8 second twin turbo track monsters... those are obviously not a match for chris's supra. If anyone's the asshole here, it'd be me. :o

Just so you know, the one in San Deigo, is a single turbo, stock ecm, bench seat, ac, streeter.......

The big supra meet is the same week end in Vegas as the buick get together.....make plans and show up....it should be fun.

no i think it was meant for me, and no i will line up with him cause i dont want to get raped :p .

Chris, my buddies with a single turbo Supra and a supercharged C5 will be at Sacramento Raceway this Friday.

They run double digit numbers at the track and trap in the 128+ range, but wouldn't mind if you showed up with your car for some runs.

If they aren't fast enough for you, we can hook you up with some other racers from there.

I would love to bring my Supra on Friday but it doesnt look too good. The shop that was installing my roll cage, the shop who was supposed to start on Friday, hasnt even touched my car. So who knows when I'll be able to get it back.

I was talking to Wicked87GN by the way. Not you 1320, sorry for the confusion. I have nothing against anyone on these forums and I dont want to cause troubles. I have respect for all things fast. Unless its a Honda.

Back to this Supra and Grand National gatherings. When and where is it taking place?

I hope to attend this gathering. Maybe I will have aquired a Grand National by then. If not atleast I'll be able to tote my Supra there.

That's because it is not a v-6. If I remember correctly, Chris's car, is a twin-turbo small block, with turbo's bulging out of the hood. It is a GN body, but not a buick motor. Still a stock chasis, door slammer, on a small tire going 8's is sick, not matter how you get there!:D
