I Have A Buick V6 Motor Out Of A Busch Car. The Motor Dynoed At 612hp And 496 Tq. I Want To Keep This A N/a Motor But I Do Want To Change It To A Efi Setup. My Questions Are; Can I Put Intake, fuel Rail Off A Gn And Go With A Dfi To Do This. The Block Number Is 10134388. I Think It Is An Offcenter But Am Not Sure Dont Know Alot About This, But Any Answers Would Be Greatful. Thank

If the motor has Stage II heads on it, NO! The best thing to do is have you 4 brl manifold converted to fuel injection w/a 90 degree bonnett & throttle body on top. (I'm sure several people will contact you from this message board that has one for sale) Hell, i think I may even have one avalible in a couple of weeks :D

Hope this helps.

Heads???

How Do I Tell If They Are Stage 2 Heads, And Would I Be Correct In Saying That If They Are Not Stage 2 Heads Then I Can Use Gn Parts. Thanks For Your Help.

Stage II heads have ports you can stick about 4 fingers in  If you cant do that, there probably not Stage II Heads. Plus, On a Stage II, The intake & exhaust alingment are differant. For example,
Stage II Heads go . . .
Intake-Exhaust, Intake-Exhaust, Intake-Exhaust
GN Heads Go . . .
Intake-Exhaust,Intake-Exhaust,EXHAUST-Intake

Hope this helps

I can guarantee you if it's a 600 HP Busch motor it's got stage 2 heads on it. But since you asked, if the intake and exhaust ports are evenly spaced,
( o o o vice oo o ) it's stage 2. There are several F.I. specialists (and manifold specialists) who could set the manifold up for injector bungs and rails, then you could use a 4V throttle body instead of an elbow. Just my $.02. Somebody on this board runs a N/A S2 in a cobra kit car. Do a search.

That would work nice too. I was stuck in "Forced Induction" thinking.

Heads???

Would The Numbers Stamped In The Back Of The Heads Tell Me Anything. I Was Told That They Were Hutter Heads. I Dont Know But They Do Have Hutter Valve Covers. Thanks

Here is a pic of Stage II heads. Hutter is the name of the guy how ported them.

Another very cool looking alternative to the 4bbl intake would be the Kinsler fuel injection setup using electronic fuel injectors. All the Indy Light V6 engines used this setup. You may be able to buy one of these setups from Ohio George.

With the addition of a crank sensor and cam sensor, you could use the stock Buick DIS ignition system (also used on Indy Lights).

Oh, YEAH! You're right. I've got a set of stacks, and mocked them up on my motor before it went in the car (ultimately went with a converted 4V) and they looked FANTASTIC!!! Great idea.

I've had a few of Ron Hutters Busch motors. The first thing you need to do is determine if it is a odd fire or even fire motor. He built both. The next thing will be to lower the compression ratio. Most of his motors were 14 to 1 or more. I have a set of Ron's heads on my motor now and the chambers are about 30cc. The intake valve actually hangs below the head surface. I'm not sure what your goal is but if it were me I would consider putting a nice 750 Holley on it and running in na. Would save a lot of time and money and you would still be making a lot of HP. If it is a odd fire motor that is about your only choice unless you want to spend big money. Glad to help with any na questions if I can. Ron

? do you or know of anybody with stage 2 off-center rods 6.2 or 6.5 rod length. ( i agree on the cast block discussion over alumnium )

Ooh. I had two 6.5's, but gave them up to Brutal Six a few months ago. Sorry. OTOH, if you need narrow-journal rods, you could get come wide-journal on-centers, and have them offset ground. Probably save you some bucks over a new set of off-centers. Just an idea.
