I think the owner of the TB. wants to control they way members think , there are clearly "Rules" to the TB.com and if "Rules" are followed no ones post should be deleted or censored in any way.
A vendor run Board will be biased ,its just human nature .
This is just My opinion, nothing more

why does www.t u r b o b u i c k s.com get censored out of my posts?

Maybe in hopes of keeping folks on track about what board they're posting to. If you talking here, then talk about stuff relevent to here. If you want to talk about them go over there and talk about them, there. That keeps it face to face with the people your talking too. There's no reason to sit over here, and yack about them.

It somewhat eliminates back biting and other silly games.

IMO, if it was the gummit editing things that'd be censorship, around here in an envirionment like this, I'd call it editing, and since we're just guests, I don't see any reason to gripe about the guy hosting the party. If I don't like a party (board), then I leave. No sense in bashing a guy just trying to have a lil good time.

I've always found it helpful to provide a reference to good tech threads from the other board that might help folks with a given question here (and vice versa on the other board). Similar idea to directing someone to the correct tech article at www.gnttype.org when they're stumped.

Blocking entry of that address might help to keep things under control, but seems to me it will do more harm than good as rabble rousers would just use a variation of www.trbobuicks.com and there are too many iterations to block them all.

As a concerned poster who is in no way involved in any of the current mess and just likes the tech, this seems like more of a nuisance than it is worth.

Just my 2 cents of course.

Yep, truer words, but in looking at the actions of a few, they've taken to spoiling things. So whatcha gonna do, let the few run wild, and play silly games?. I'm into TRs for the long run, the pettiness of this will blow over, as other dramas unfold. Have some popcorn, pop open a Pepsi, and enjoy the ride, is my take on it. Everyone has the freedom of what board they want to support, and how they do that. I'm happy to cruise here.

I don't see a few mouse clicks as that big of deal. It's not that hard to browse other boards.

Sorry to jack your thread, but man bruce, i'm starting to notice a little connection between you and pepsi. lol (from the central ohio thread also.) :D

that happend to me just a few hours ago.

censorship is a good thing, i'm not offended by it, but its nice not seeing the f word plasterd all over the place, things like that should be censored out.

but the name of another site? come one people! thats like me going to a chevy site and the censor out "ford", while i think that is a bad word thats just my oppinion;) i'm not complaining about how this site is being ran like a lot of people have been doing lately, but i am saying that not allowing that is a bit extreme.

Thanks Bruce.

You have answered my tech questions for me before, and I have learned from some of the many other things that you have posted here, and I respect your opinions.:D

With that being said:

It somewhat eliminates back biting and other silly games.

And...the ability to refer fellow board members to a site that also has good tech information. And great ministarters. The only place I see that COULD be a "problem" over there is the lounge. But that is what the lounge is for, I guess. off-topic discussions.

I'd call it editing

"editing" is for words like ****-stain. Was Hitler trying to "edit" the human languange by burning books?

since we're just guests, I don't see any reason to gripe about the guy hosting the party. If I don't like a party (board), then I leave.

I don't boycot Gillete becuase they torture bunnies, and I don't boycot the Who becuase Pete Townsend got cuaght downloading kiddie born. I like to shave and I like to rock.

I am not going to boycott this board. I am going to make my opinions known. I donated my money when Jason asked for it. This board is as much mine as it is anyone elses.

Or is it? Is it a front for someones business?

Who made the decision that www.tbs*.com should be "edited"?

Are they to make the desicion for us about all the websites that we should and should not visit?

Here is one:

www.norml.org

Someone please tell me if I should be going to this sites or not...

Previous post "edited" so as to not break the PG-13 rule when posting links to other web sites.:D
