Question about using hydroulic fluid

I have read before that you can use hydroulic fluid in a transmission with good results.My question is,what is the name of the fluid you should use and where can it be found.

Also,are there any modifications that should be done to the transmission to work with the fluid and will it work well with a trans brake?

The trans in my case is a TH400 and I'm considering this because I feel the properties of the hydroulic fluid should work better under the heat and stress of a trans brake.

Any opinions?

Thanks,that answered most of my questions.The only one left is are there any mods I need to do to the 400 that will help it work better with this fluid over standard tranny fluid.

nope...we run 2-3 quarts of atf with it but thats us...
