Question from a newcomer

I just purchased an 87 GN, All original with 49,ooo miles on it. I'm looking to add a little HP to it but don't want to over do it. I would like to keep the car in good shape. This is a "Sunday Driver", but I do want the extra power. Thanks for any info.

hello and welcome to the board.i recommend first thing is too get a scanmaster 2.1 ,it will give you all the info that the computer sees,when you start adding parts,you can check the cars vitals,so you know youre being safe.
second do a spring cleaning before any moods.(anyone got the link to gnttype.org spring cleaning)

third,check the posts,ask questions,and enjoy.

What kind of effect would a chip have on this car and what kind do you reccomend? Thanks

it can make it seem to run stronger. I have a turbo tweak chip now, but when my car was stock i used a red 93 and it made my car wake up. most will tell you turbotweak is the best though. i haven't tried enough to know what one is best though. i have some stock chips laying around if you want just pm for details. I think the scanmaster is the best thing to get first though, considering that you need it for the turbotweak chips
