i don`t know much about tranny`s so here goes.what is the unit next to the valve body called is that the servo? anyways the big spring was broke inside and i was wondering what would cause that thanks in advance
1-2 accumulator housing. Spring broke due to everytime it shifts from 1-2 it applies force against spring. After time, and age they break. Usually it will result in a slide bump or soft 1-2 shift when broken.
i put it all back together and still no over drive i have another question tho can i take the valve body out of that transmision and put it in a stock one to make it shift better
The black in the bottom of the pan is burnt friction material. You have a friction element that is going bye bye. Changing the valve body won't change that. You'll just end up with a bad functioning tranny that you'll be pulling the VB every so often to unstick valves. Valves in the VB don't normally stick unless there is debris floating around in the fluid. It's a sign that something, whether friction or metal is wearing at a high enough rate that the VB can't clean itself. Bite the bullet. Sorry to be the messenger of bad news.
yes the tranny that i hust tried to fix is junk i am going to pull it out tonitw.what i was wondering is can i take the valve body out of the junk one and put it in one that i took out of a monte carlo.i had the one out of the monte in my gn before but it shifted really bad unless i did it manauly the speedo was off like 15 miles an hour faster then what i was doing to thanks for the help
If the Monte unit is in good shape, go ahead. Change the seperator plate, governor , TV boost valves, and speedo assm too. Make sure the servo assm is the correct size for your application.
