Besides freeing up a few extra horsepower, is it really worth the extra $$$$ to invest in a roller cam? Here's what I'm planning on doing :
109 block .030 over with 2 center steel caps
stock crank cut .010 .010
ported iron heads
TRW forged pistons
John Craig TA61 w/ garrett housing
Some kind of stretch ic
55 lbs inj

Is the roller cam really worth it? Oh, almost forgot, I'm going with a 206/206.

Please give me your opinions.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

I absolutely LOVE my roller cam. I guess it's up to individual preference, but at least I know I won't wipe another cam anytime soon....

Sorry if I offended you Woody.

I wasn't implying that it was a waste of money. Otherwise, I wouldn't be considering it. I simply just wanted to get some opinions from the guys that went that route. I'm putting the car together hopefully to run in the mid 10s, and I had my mind made up that I was going to go with a roller cam.

Any other help is appreciated.

I think if you want to build a fast, reliable car, a roller cam is part of the recipe

you cannot offend me :D and no offense taken

they are expensive, but worth it......just make sure you get enough cam for your goals

buy once!

(you will now hear from 200 guys who run flat tappet cams into the 9's with no problem.......but such is life)

Woody, I appreciate your help, and yes, fast and reliable is what I'm trying to accomplish. Do you think my combo will do what I want it to do? Thanks again...........
