I purchased a used roller cam/lifters and I recieved them with no order to put them back in. Is this OK for a roller setup ... to reinstall lifters mismatched?

And, do I have to break in this roller cam?

Another Q is I have brand new push rods 8.200 ( 7/16 ) .080... will these work with the roller lifters and stock rocker arms?

Any info is appreciated.

Install it- you'll be fine. No break in needed. For the pushrods, you'll want to measure what you need.

Make sure you set the clearance correctly on the cam button!

You don't need to break in the cam and it shouldn't matter which lobe the roller runs on. As for the pushods 8.2 is just about right if you've had the heads milled a couple times. I think Full Throttle send 8.255" pushrods with there kits. Your best bet is to install the cam and rocker arms and measure with a pushrod checker. Then you know the preload is right. HTH. james

I think all the vendors have the roller button with shims- it's like $40 or so. You don't use the spring, because the cam isn't trying to walk out of the block because of the tapers on the lifters.

OK, got the correct roller cam button. No directions on how to install it tho:confused:

Can anyone tell me the proper install procedure?

After this I think I am home free!

Id run the shimmed button with .010 inch end play. Be sure to compress the timing cover gasket before measuring the clearance.

Your gonna love this cam, even with my fairly stock heads it makes a big diff over stock. Does sound like a sewing machine at idle and part throttle. With my stock setup smoking the tires on the street was fun, now its just uncontrollable @ 20psi.

Got the cam button shimmed to .040 and the clearance is .005

I went with the roller button because the roller cam lobes are NOT tapered unlike the regular hyd. cams.

.005 is a little to tight imo.
