Has anyone ever had a single exhaust system that was quiet? If so what muffler did you use? I currently have a 3.5 inch downpipe and exhaust with a single flowmaster ending at the rear axle. The noise is will make you deaf. Share your secrets for a quiet exhaust

Yup.......Hooker catback is nice and mellow with very little drone. I just got mine on the car a week ago and it's as quiet at highway speeds as the factory crossflow was. Fairly cheap too...$309 to my door from Summit Racing.

On my 87 GN I had the ATR Single Shot with a stainless Pitbull muffler.....that sucker was waayyyy beyond loud, especially at highway speeds....drone would drive you nuts on anything beyond a short cruise. Don't think I will ever go to a 3" single on my T.....too much drone.

flowmasters suck and do nothing to help you with backpresssure. smack yourself and put a real muffler in it.

Have had the hooker on mine awhile now and love it no drone or resonating and quiet. Actually if anything almost to quiet.

Just installed the long case Walker Hemi mufflers that have the 20" case. You do have to cut of about 5" from your Y pipe but they fit just fine with the ATR 2.5 exhaust system. They are center in , offset out . No problems and are very quiet. Best of all they were like $37.00 each from JEG'S.

For something quiet I recommend a 2.5" dual system with Magnaflow mufflers. Cotton's offers one like this.

Do not use a 3.5"single shot like what's on my gray car! :D It'll leave you deaf within an hour of highway drone, but sounds wicked at w.o.t.!!
