BINGO POST 843 GN Rick nailed it Gordon Buehrig holds the patent in 1948 for T-Tops. First G car to get T-Tops was the 1968 Corvette......probably made most popular in the 1970s on the trans ams etc.....Hurst had their own version called Hurst Hatches....

Gordone Buehrig was a very very talented body designers worked for Duesenberg, Auburn, Cord did the Auburn 851 Speedster also worked on the Pierce Arrow and towards the end of his life for Ford.

If you had any of these car models today you are sitting on a great investment.

Next question you will have to google 1947 studebaker pick up truck. Click on any thread that shows the exterior of the truck sides front back etc.

Here is the question:

The exterior shows two unique features that only Studebaker did. GM and Ford never did to my knowledge.

What 2 unique features do you see in the photos?

Nose / Hood came to sort of a point and the headlights were molded into the body (not the fenders).

A more aerodynamic shape, the "wind wing" vents on the driver and passenger windows and the front and rear fenders were interchangeable front to rear side to side.

The grille is vertically oriented for one thing. Chevy's had a horizontal grille, as did the Fords of that era if I'm not mistaken. Hood ornaments were also available on the Studebaker. I've never seen a Chevy of that vintage with one. I know my Dad's '53 doesn't have one...

Post 856 has nailed 1./2 the answer.....which was a clever cost saving thing Studebaker did on that model. They had that model a few years think it was called the M5....I used to know this stuff as I had a 1947 1/2 ton totally restored and a 1947 one ton powered by a V8 Lincoln...

Your on the rite track just think what the other item is....

Chevy and Ford to my knowledge never had interchangable fenders...
