As the title states, can anyone recommend or suggest any tips in installating the kit? How long can I expect for the installation? Would I need to drop the fuel tank? Do the kits contain detailed instructions? I'm hoping the installation is as easy as it states on the website (plug & play) setup. Thanks in advance!

I received my kit last week haven't installed it yet, it came with the pump, complete harness and instruction, it looks like it is plug and play if that helps any. I probably won't get to mine for a week or so, but if I run into any problems I will be glad to pass along the info.

it depends on if you have a lift and a tranny jack ( to hold the tank because it must be dropped to install the new fuel pump) it took me and a friend less than an hour....most of the time was spent getting the sending unit out of the tank... this job can be done with one person but is a whole lot easier with two...as for directions go ...i dont really remember how good they were...but every thing seemed to have its place....its not as intimidating as you might think

Just did this two weeks ago. The racetronic instructions are good. Be sure to wire the hotwire starting from the back (tank) because it's almost no way to feed the wiring with the relay connector from the front first. I jacked the back up on stands and dropped the tank out by hand but you need a floor jack to put it back in and an extra set of hands would be nice too, but I did mine alone. The only thing I think can be done is taking the rubber fuel lines off from the top of the tank and not up against the floor of the car like suggested. Go ahead and take off the hex head screw that holds the line to the floor but then drop the tank down and take the line off the tank. It is eaiser to work them off from there rather than up in the floor over the axle with all the crap falling in your eyes. Some of the early 86s had terminal connections and you have to splice in the wires others have an adaptor connection. Use the rubber sleave around the pump from the stocker and get it snug to the pipe going down. This will help the noise, mine is quiter than the stocker. Also it should tell you not to use the pulsator, you just use the piece of straight fuel line with the hose clamps to take up the space. Get um tight as pumping the gas back in the tank is not what ya want. If ya didn't know you can take the schrader valve out of the end of the fuel rail, put on a piece of hose to a gas can, put 12v to the wire behind the alt and pump the tank dry. Since your not going to reuse the pump you can run it dry to drain the tank. I added a T to the rail for a pressure guage line.
